Order of Operations

Fellow Commanders,
Here's an old post that I wanted to share as a stand-alone:

Our friend BotMonster asked about the order in which theU recommends deploying robots.  Of course, it depends on real-time battlefield intel, but generally, we endorse the principle of "slowest to fastest."  Late in the battle, a depleted enemy team often gets shredded by fast robots stretching the field in all directions.  That's exactly what happened in this video example, which also features a pretty big comeback against a determined team:

I'm playing the same hangar all year, and conserving all my silver, gold, and platinum.  Through the first week of March, I've saved 340M Ag, 14K Au, and 1745 Pt (along with about 50K power cells).  Having developed two rules for survival against stronger hangars (don't mech out; look for favorable matchups), I humbly submit rule #3: speed kills

"Speed" means different things to different folks.  Some like the drag-strip attacks of the Phantom; some like to harass beacons with Loki.  The Ao Jun covers ground very quickly in attack or in retreat.  No matter what you do, try to use your speed to help your game.  The speed booster is nearly free.  Pilot skills are another great way to get a little more horsepower.

Here's where we are, fellow F2P competitors:
  • Don't mech out.
  • Exploit favorable matchups.
  • Play the fastest hangar you can.

Your humble servant and deranged whale chasing Ahab,
Dr. Yat

  1. Hi, I’m a big fan of your blog and I’m wondering if you can do a guide on titans? Some math on how to upgrade them or an explanation on which titans/weapons to go for would be really helpful!

    1. Sorry for the late reply ... I don't know enough about Titans because they are so resource intensive. Most players only know the one they have. But I will try!
