Go Slow To Go Fast

Fellow Pilots,
In "real life," I worked for several years as a labor leader/organizer.  We often say, "Go slow to go fast."  It means that one shouldn't expect results from organising efforts until we've spent plenty of time laying the ground work.  We need to build working relationships, trust, and most of all, capacity.

I wasn't surprised by the "boycott" effort in early September 2018, and I wasn't surprised by Pixonic's ability to ignore it.  The boycott organisers didn't work to build capacity among the people they were asking to take action, they didn't have a working relationship with Pixonic or other community leaders, and they didn't have trust established with, well, anyone.

So let's talk about how to take action the right way.  We've got a live, timely issue as described here on Monday: the longer Pixonic takes to remedy abuse of the "Descend" ability, the more it becomes part of the strategy employed by teams who want to win.

What to do?  Go slow to go fast.  Let's start by asking whether there is a fix already in the pipeline.  Let me know if you'd like to add your name here on the blog, or just use the comments section.
