NOOB vs. Iron. It. Gets. Ugly.

Fellow Pilots,
Earlier this month, I was attempting to film a video about how Dreadnought strategy is strongly similar to Shenzhen.  The idea is to grab both sides and squeeze your enemy at the center.  But, like most of my videos, it didn't work according to plan.  I dropped into a match between two full squads, and just functioned as an observer.

If you've ever run across a pod of MK2 level 12 champs running the newest and deadliest (it's not a "squad," it's a "pod" because that's what you call a group of killer whales), you will understand how clan Iron felt in this one.  The battle is about four minutes, with an additional minute looking at the hangars of some of the participants.

As usual, my advice is to lay low in battle.  Don't take unnecessary risks, which is one major difference between good players and great players.  Let the fighting take shape in front of you so that you can make the most intelligent decisions on behalf of your team.  Just as I would on Shenzhen, I grabbed a side beacon and headed for the corner near the enemy spawn zone.  This closes one avenue of escape and "invites" the red team into the killing zone.  It's a bad place to be, but most pilots will walk right in.

Don't. Do. It.

Your humble servant,
Dr. Yat

PS: I recognize there wasn't much else for Iron to do in this one, but I can tell you what I'd have done in their position.  My side was unsupported.  Had they come to their right, rolling away from the strength of Noob, they could have killed me and grabbed one side.  The balance of the battle would have shifted and potentially allowed Iron to work someone to the left in a minute or two.  Any time you see four or five reds together, try the other side of the battlefield.  It's a LOT more hospitable.
