Flying Is The New Flanking!

Fellow Pilots and Dear Old Friends,
Over the weekend, the U hit a milestone.  Since December, we've had over 10,000 views.  While it doesn't pay the bills, it's a lot of fun to write.  Thank you!

Today's post is a favorite of mine.  War Robots University and Pixonic have teamed up to bring you "Flying Is The New Flanking."  It's a practical guide to the new Hover robot, featuring the ability to get anywhere on any map.  To see it, glide on over to the still new WarRobots.net.

NOTE: Pixonic provided a Hover for the creation of this article.  The company did not make any content or editorial suggestions before publication.

We are excited about a new experiment we are conducting at the U - testing the win rate of stock robot hangars.  Yep - using them as they come from the store.  Stock robots vary pretty widely in their usefulness.  Almost everybody has tried a Carnage with two Thunders, and you get immediately what it's good at.  A few people run Lancelots with Thunder and Talumbas.  But you rarely see a Griffin with two Pins and two Molot Ts.  I don't have Nashorns or Spirals leveled up yet, and that eliminates a lot of the available choices, so this is what my group looks like:

Before I head off to battle, I thought I'd share this shot - I'm in the middle, pushing a frozen Lancelot forward on the covered bridge at Yamantau.  When you don't have cover AND your teammate's internet dies, this is what you do!  There's a second Carnage behind mine, trying to melt stuff with the Ember.  If only I could have fired that Lancelot's weapons ...

We'll report on the stock robot experiment soon.  Have a great week,
Dr. Yat
