Got Leftover Parts? Try A Second Hangar!

Fellow Pilots,
It is difficult to get one group of robots and weapons leveled up the way you want, so what should we make of the opportunity to spend 7500 Au on a second hangar deck?  For our second installment of War Economics, let's take a look.

Many pilots already have Griffins and Rhinos sitting on the bench behind newer models like Haechi and Inquisitor.   Economists call unrecoverable expenditures "sunk costs," and it's a smart business practice to put them to work if you can.

If you have the gold-priced items you want already, you can only use gold to buy workshop points, speed upgrades, or acquire components.  Taking one robot or weapon through a series of instant upgrades will cost you around 4500 Au.  For a bit more, you can enable a second group as big map specialists sporting your long range weapons.

I saw Romeo on Power Plant, as a member of the red team.  They beat us, and he used what we can assume to be his small-map group of brawlers:

In the next battle, on Yamantau, Romeo was a blue, and he brought a very different skill set:

My colleague Where y'at employs a similar strategy - a group of brawlers with one long-range threat:

For big maps, he sometimes deploys this group.  The Lancelot is a capable brawler but can damage enemies outside the range of Tarans and Orkans; the Hover is a beacon runner 500 meters of range in the Russian Death Button style.  The other three can hit from 600m or more.

While the U wouldn't necessarily recommend the expenditure of 7500 Au before you have a good set of Orkans, a Fury, and a Lancelot, we certainly think it works for those pilots that are sitting on many unused robots!

Happy blasting,
Professor ZOSO

  1. The classic argument against sunk costs is 'good money after bad'.

An additional hangar will take additional resources to keep at the same level as your main hangar. Whether this is worthwhile is up to you.

A second hangar, however, is great for 6/6.
