University Recommended King Of The Hill Tactics - If You Can Wait Long Enough!

Fellow Pilots,
BREAKING NEWS: Team Death Match will have its own queue this Friday through Sunday, as Beacon Rush did last weekend.  This was a player suggestion from fellow author PheonixWolf in the content creator's Discord group, but I couldn't tell from Tofsla's response whether Pixonic was already planning the test or not.  Regardless, play your favorite mode this weekend so Pixonic knows who likes what.

Of the four modes now available in War Robots, King Of The Hill would probably be my second favorite, after Domination, IF ... I could get a battle to save my life.  I'm in Masters at the moment, trying to reach Champion League for the much bigger Battle Rewards payout, and the wait times are so long that I always quit trying after a minute.  Or five.

BUT, as you know from previous posts about people who play really strong hangars down in low leagues, I used my son's account to test King Of The Hill.  Along with Professor Werdna, an Aurora Nova clanmate, the U has some tactical recommendations.  They boil down to this: first, make a decision about whether to contest the active beacon.  If there is a second choice to make, either intercept the enemy or traverse toward the next beacon.

If you click over to the official War Robots site, you'll find our full KOTH guide there, along with an example video featuring my kid's Cossacks, Boa, and Vityaz!

REALLY FAST ROBOTS (and great position) ON THE MOON

I was a little bit bummed out that Pixonic chose Kumiho as the component robot for the first series of supply drops, because I already had one.  Selfishness notwithstanding, this robot is amazing and it makes the game more fun.  In this three minute battle on the Moon, one of my teammates jumps into his race car and grabs five beacons - as many as the whole enemy team.  It doesn't take long to watch!

I mention it in the video, but in case you don't have three minutes, there's a spot on the Moon that I love more than chocolate chip cookies.  It's the edge of the opposing team's spawn point, between their first beacon and the wall (#2 on the map below).  You can walk from the blue spawn point (or Beacon Rush your way over there) and snipe robots from #1, but it's even more glorious if you can get all the way home.  I indicated the helpless red team with a mark even a CHILD would recognize as DEATH!!

My artwork always amazes me.

Here's what this spot looks like from the ground, after wasting my old friend Furkan&Fuat in a different battle ...

Finally, some of you hadn't heard of SOLVM prior to one of our posts this week.  It's worth checking out the day he sold all his stuff to pilot five Griffins!  Also, Manni shows you how the speed of Dragoon is a good counter to the slower Zeus and Scourge ... by using a Boa?

Happy Friday,
Doc Yat and the crew at War Robots University

  1. Ah, but how much do you love chocolate chip cookies? You could hate them with every fiber of your being and only like that a spot on the moon a little bit more.

  2. OMG PILOT, I love chocolate chip cookies in a very unhealthy way. I eat them the way a junkie scores. If they could kill a man, I’d be six feet under. That spot on the moon is AMAZING. If you can get there. It’s not easy to do.
